The Children's Museum of Indianapolis has partnered with the world's foremost maps expert, the National Geographic Society, and the most advanced producer of new mapping technology, the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), to create a compelling international traveling exhibit, “National Geographic Maps: Tools for Adventure.”
“National Geographic Maps: Tools for Adventure” is being developed for teachers and school groups, grades three through five. Educational materials based on U.S. National Geography Standards will be provided to supplement and extend the museum visit.

National Geographic's Earth Pulse State of the Earth 2010 is comprised of essays, photo galleries, links to additional resources, and an interactive vital statistics map. The Vital Statistics Map allows users to view mapped displays twenty different sets of statistics. The data sets cover topics including population change, population migrations, and resource consumption. Users can select two data sets to compare on one map.

The focus of Map Collections is Americana and Cartographic Treasures of the Library of Congress. These images were created from maps and atlases and, in general, are restricted to items that are not covered by copyright .
